I´ll start this homepage by giving you the Perdita story in the short version.

I got my first dalmatian in 1980. He was a young liverspotted dog that needed a new home, and it was just by luck that I saw the advertisement in the paper. Leo was his name, and he was such a typical dalmatian, lively, friendly, cunning, strongwilled, charming and as almost all dalmatians: he got away with murder !!! Leo made me realize that dalmatians was the breed for me, and so it has been the last 25 years.

My home has been full of spots sometimes as many as ten individuals not counting the puppies that have been born at regular intervals. My 41 rst. litter is due spring 2005.

I got my first broodbitch from the breeders of Leo, her name was Liberlines Dizzy Miss Lizzy. She was not an easy bitch to breed from as she had great difficulties in giving birth, something that is not usual in the breed, so that was just my luck!!! In her third and last litter I got Perditas Pernille a strongboned liverspotted bitch with a beautiful temper and not so beautiful spotting. She gave me in her first litter Perditas No Miss also liverspotted but in her next litters  got nothing but pet quality, maybe because I bred more from feelings than knowledge. Before I started breeding from No Miss I had eight litters without much success. I have always had to learn the hard way, and now I realised that maybe breeding from feelings was not good enough-even so I have to have a certain inkling when I choose combinations, an inkling that I cannot explain to those that do not understand what I mean... but some of you do I´m sure...Anyway I had seen a young dog,

Timankas Talented Clown, he was a dalmatian that made my heart beat faster, though he had many faults, details that should give me lots of work to set right and some I still struggle to get rid of Timankas Talented Clown was mated to Perditas No Miss and I got my first really good litter. This was in 1990, exactly ten years after I got my first dalmatian.During these ten years I had spent lots of time studying pedigrees talking to old breeders, read the dalmatian standard maybe one thousand times. In short spent more time trying to learn about dalmatians than I had spent trying to learn anything else so far in my life...

In the litter born in 1990 I got the most marvellous brood bitch, Perditas Long Live Love. After having had the fortune and joy of owning such a bitch I must be grateful and not expecting such luck to come my way again. She has given daughters to a number of breeders and many of them have in their turn given their owners the satisfaction of nice puppies.The first litter out of Long Live Love was fathered by Dalmos Educated Edgar, he was from pure english lines and these two dalmatians got many lovely off-springs. I kept Perditas Key To Heaven, and through her I started to linebreed Long Live Love. I tried to breed closer and closer until I got a litter which gave me only one faultless puppy out of eight-so now the time has come to  outbreed again.

The circle is closed and only time will show if  I have the strength and willpower to start all over again. Nevertheless twenty years of breeding has given me an interest which is all absorbing and more challenges than I sometimes appreciated.

I wrote the above more than five years ago, and after this time I have had six more litters, Perditas Flower Power has proved to be a good brood bitch in spite of coming from a litter with faults on all her littermates.Her best puppy so far has been Perditas Counterstrike,but she has also given bitches to breeders abroad where one daughter Perditas Call me Madam has had one litter in Hungary. She was mated to the Norwegian import Dot.Com Break Me Shake Me.Another daughter of Flower Power will be mated in Sweden later this year. Perditas Inter Action also had one more litter from Perditas Just in Time where I kept Perditas Dotty Design whom I personally like very much,she will be mated to Perditas Counter Strike on her next season. So the Perdita story will without doubt carry on as long as I can draw my breath.
